Toronto Skatepark Map + Funny News

Friday, March 31st, 2006

Haha.

Thank-you Dekalzshop Forum for knowing where lots of skateparks are. I’ve added several more skateparks to the Toronto Skateparks Map. Weston Park isn’t too far from me, I’ll have to check that one out too.

1 Reading Week + 3 Week Teacher Strike = 4 week vacation.

I’m back in school dreading how they are going to compress the semester. I have all my homework for this week done (Week 8) but most of the work beyond that (13 week semester) I haven’t touched since early March. Hopefully the courses will be modified. They’ve added one extra week to make up for the three lost.

Most exams are cancelled; too bad I don’t have any.

www.opseu.org vs opseu.org

www.ultraflymodel.com/ vs ultraflymodel.com

That is annoying. I rarely type in the WWW, so these two websites always trip me up. I wish I could tell these sites how to fix it, but I can’t find a solution to it online. My test server (which I set up) doesn’t have this problem because it doesn’t have a domain. Fortunetely, I haven’t found any others with this bug.

I found more internet

Maybe I just never looked hard enough. I just found a ton of inline skating websites. I’m listening to this here podcast right now, and it is pretty spiffy.

Today was my last or second-last day of skiing for the season (curse you spring, curse you!), so I probably should start paying attention to my crossover sport. I found a whole bunch of websites on the subject to explore. There’s Newschoolers which is a very central and concentrated part of the freestyle/freeride skiing community. It looks like the inline skating is much more spread out on the web.

Teacher Strike is OVER, back to class Monday.

Striking Ontario college faculty and their students will be back in class on Monday, March 27. OPSEU representatives will be available at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto to discuss details.

College management and the union bargaining team signed an agreement today that will see outstanding issues resolved through voluntary binding arbitration. The union team first proposed the idea on Wednesday, March 22.

Only took 3 weeks to realize nothing was going to get accomplished without comprimise.
